Camille Pissarro moved his family to the village of Éragny-sur-Epte in Normandy in 1884, and its fields and farm labor became a central subject for the rest of his career. "Haymaking at Éragny" reflects his deep sympathy for agricultural work and rural life, painted during a period when Pissarro was also experimenting with the pointillist technique of his younger colleagues Seurat and Signac. As the only artist to exhibit in all eight Impressionist exhibitions, Pissarro is often called the movement's guiding elder statesman.
Printed with archival giclée inks on smooth, acid-free 220 gsm gallery-grade fine-art paper; available in multiple sizes.
