Lucien Pissarro was the eldest of Camille Pissarro's five children and himself became a painter and printmaker, eventually settling in England and helping found the Eragny Press. This portrait reflects the close artistic bond between father and son — Camille corresponded with Lucien constantly about painting technique and theory, letters that remain an important record of Impressionist and Neo-Impressionist ideas. Camille Pissarro was a devoted mentor not only to his own children but to younger painters including Cézanne and Gauguin.

It's holding up fine so far and I have no strong feelings either way. Anyone who loves Portrait Lucien will be content rather than thrilled. The wait is the part I would change.

This went well past what I expected. The texture in Portrait Lucien makes Pissarro feel present in the room. Our driver leaves everything at the end of a long gravel driveway and it still arrived in perfect shape. An easy five stars from me.
