The Story in the Margin
“The Apotheosis of the Hero” was painted by a follower of Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640), the towering Flemish Baroque master whose dynamic, richly coloured style shaped a whole generation of Antwerp painters trained in or influenced by his studio. The subject — a hero raised up in glory, a favorite Baroque theme of triumph and immortality — reflects the grand allegorical language Rubens made fashionable across 17th-century Europe. As a studio or circle work, it shows how widely his visual vocabulary was absorbed by the artists around him.
Printed with archival giclée inks on smooth, acid-free 220 gsm gallery-grade fine-art paper; available in multiple sizes.

This was a gift for my sister and she called me the day it arrived. My whole family has commented on it and they never notice anything. It looks like something you would find in a very good museum shop. I already have my eye on a second one.
The colors are richer in person than they look on a screen. My daughter recognized The Apotheosis of the Hero from her art class and was thrilled.
My whole family has opinions about the house and everyone agreed on this one. Don’t think twice, just order it.
The subject was exactly what I was hunting for and the reproduction is clean. Only the far edges of The Apotheosis of the Hero lose a little crispness. Happy customer, and I don't say that often.
I have bought a lot of art online and this is the first time it looked exactly like the listing. The color in The Apotheosis of the Hero is what people mean when they talk about Rubens. It cost less than dinner out and has given us far more. The tones are deep and even across the entire surface.
