The Story in the Margin
“The Little Bridge” is a landscape by Jacob van Ruisdael (1628/29–1682), the Dutch Golden Age painter celebrated for elevating ordinary countryside scenery — streams, woodland, weathered trees — into subjects worthy of a masterpiece. A modest wooden bridge crossing a stream becomes, in Ruisdael's hands, the quiet centerpiece of a scene rich in atmosphere and detail. His work went on to influence landscape painting across Europe and America for the next two centuries.
Printed with archival giclée inks on smooth, acid-free 220 gsm gallery-grade fine-art paper; available in multiple sizes.

My only complaint is that I wish they made a bigger version. It is the closest I will get to owning Ruisdael, and The Little Bridge looks the part.
This has been the easiest online order I have placed in years. The detail in The Little Bridge holds up with my face inches away. The driver tucked it inside the storm door, which I appreciated.
I have bought three of these now for different rooms. I have wanted something by Ruisdael since college, and The Little Bridge was the one to get.
I have no real complaints and one small wish. There is more going on in The Little Bridge than I noticed on the website.
This went well past what I expected. The texture in The Little Bridge makes Ruisdael feel present in the room. It has become the thing I point to when people compliment the house. The tones are deep and even across the entire surface. I could not be happier with it.
