In 1858, Captain Linnaeus Tripe, official photographer to the government of Madras, turned his camera on the Pudhu Mandapa in Madurai, South India — a grand columned hall raised in the 17th century by the Nayak ruler Tirumalai Nayak as an entrance pavilion to the Meenakshi Amman Temple complex. Tripe's photographs of South Indian temple architecture, made with a pioneering rising-front camera that let him capture towering structures without distortion, remain among the earliest and most technically accomplished photographic surveys of the region.

It made the playroom feel finished in a way I could not manage on my own. It cost less than dinner out and has given us far more. The size is exactly right for the spot I had in mind. Don't think twice, just order it.
This looks cheaper in person than it does on screen. The quality is acceptable and the price is not. It has not gotten better with time the way I hoped it might. I ordered this for a lake house in Alabama and could not use it for a single weekend. Not terrible, only not good.
