Painted by Sandro Botticelli (c. 1445–1510) in the late 15th century, “La Primavera” gathers Venus, the Three Graces, Mercury and other mythological figures into a flowering orange grove, an allegory of spring's arrival that remains one of the most written-about and admired paintings in Western art. Botticelli worked under the patronage of the Medici family in Florence, and this panel reflects the Renaissance fascination with reviving classical mythology through a Christian humanist lens. It hangs in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

It arrived two days after I ordered, which I did not expect. Anyone who loves Botticelli should have Primavera somewhere in the house. It looks like something you would find in a very good museum shop. I would pay more and still feel good about it.
