Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640) returned several times to the biblical tale of Susanna, the virtuous young wife surprised at her bath by two elders who threaten to slander her unless she yields. Rubens paints the moment of alarm with all his Baroque richness of flesh and drama — beauty and menace held in a single tense instant.
Jacquard-woven both sides in soft, durable yarn; insert included.

I bought this to fill an awkward corner and it did much more than that. Every line in Susanna is crisp, even in the busiest areas. It makes the upstairs hallway feel like somebody with taste lives here. I already have my eye on a second one.
I have bought three of these now for different rooms. I have wanted something by Rubens since college, and Susanna was the one to get. An easy five stars from me.
The listing photos are flattering without being dishonest. I would order again on sale.
