This panel belongs to the eighteenth-century European vogue for chinoiserie, in which French and English designers imagined an idealized China of pagodas, parasols, and figures in flowing robes, drawn more from imagination and imported porcelain than firsthand observation. Large-scale repeating furnishing fabrics like this one were block-printed or woven to upholster chairs and sofas, or to sheathe entire walls, in the fashionable interiors of the period. Leading manufactories, including Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf's works at Jouy-en-Josas, made this style enormously popular across Europe.
Jacquard-woven both sides in soft, durable yarn; insert included.

Everyone who walks in asks about it. Everything that makes chinoiserie panel vii special survived the reproduction. The driver tucked it inside the storm door, which I appreciated. I am thrilled with the whole experience.
The quality is fine and the wait was the real problem. Anyone who loves chinoiserie panel vii will be content rather than thrilled. I have stopped thinking about it, which says something.
The whole experience was smooth from checkout to delivery. The condition it arrived in was perfect. I ordered on a Sunday night and it shipped Monday morning. I would recommend it to a friend.
My mother liked hers so much that I ordered one too. The detail in chinoiserie panel vii holds up with my face inches away. Buy it, you will not regret it.
This went well past what I expected. It brings out parts of chinoiserie panel vii I have never seen reproduced this well. It transformed a primary bedroom that had felt unfinished for years. The value here is so good that I keep expecting to find the catch. One very happy customer here.
