This pen-and-ink chinoiserie design drawing reflects the eighteenth-century European practice of inventing fanciful 'Chinese' imagery on paper as preparatory or exhibition work related to the broader decorative arts trade. Such drawings, produced by designers working in the circle of artists like Jean-Baptiste Pillement, translated an imagined vision of China into pagodas, parasols, and whimsically dressed figures rendered in fluid pen line. They form an important counterpart to the woven and printed chinoiserie textiles that dominated European interiors of the period.
Jacquard-woven both sides in soft, durable yarn; insert included.

It is a very good pillow that costs a bit more than it should.
It arrived four days after I ordered and in perfect shape. The colors in chinoiserie pen came through almost exactly as I hoped. Buy it if the price works for you.
The whole experience was smooth from checkout to delivery…
Appreciate you writing this. If you ever want a recommendation for something to go with it, just send us an email.
Good value for something this size. The scan behind chinoiserie pen is clean, with no obvious artifacts. I would order from here again.
Half of this worked out and the other half did not. The darker areas of chinoiserie pen lose some of their depth. The detail is good at a distance and ordinary up close. Three stars, taking everything together.
