Painted around 1892 by Xugu, this work pairs crested myna birds with chrysanthemums, a flower long associated in Chinese painting with autumn and scholarly integrity. Xugu, a Buddhist monk who supported himself by selling paintings in Yangzhou, Suzhou, and Shanghai, developed a light, distinctive touch admired for its freshness. The work is held in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Jacquard-woven both sides in soft, durable yarn; insert included.

This is my fourth order from this shop and the standard has not slipped once. Every person who has been in the house has asked where it came from. 🙂
I kept checking the tracking because I could not wait for it to get here. The colors in crested myna birds are richer than any version I found online. I have told half my family about this shop.
This went well past what I expected. The detail in crested myna birds holds up with my face inches away.
It has completely changed how the family room feels. Don’t think twice, just order it.
My mother liked hers so much that I ordered one too. The colors in crested myna birds are richer than any version I found online…
