Painted in 1888 by Ren Yi, this hanging scroll pairs a parrot with chrysanthemums, combining a bird prized for its bright plumage and mimicry with a flower long associated with autumn and scholarly virtue. The work reflects Ren Yi's mature style, characterized by looser brushwork and greater tonal variation than his earlier, more tightly outlined paintings. It is held in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Jacquard-woven both sides in soft, durable yarn; insert included.

My husband spotted this months ago and I finally gave in. Everything that makes parrot chrysanthemums special survived the reproduction. Worth every dollar and then some…
It made the dining room feel finished in a way I could not manage on my own. 👌
I have bought a lot of art online and this is the first time it looked exactly like the listing. Everything that makes parrot chrysanthemums special survived the reproduction. It arrived a full day ahead of the estimate. Perfect from start to finish.
This went well past what I expected. The smallest marks in parrot chrysanthemums are still visible, which is the entire point. I have already ordered two more for other rooms.
The quality here is well beyond what I paid for it. My daughter recognized parrot chrysanthemums from her art class and was thrilled. I already have my eye on a second one.
