Painted by the Ming dynasty court and professional painter Dai Jin, this landscape shows Daoist immortals absorbed in a game of weiqi, the strategy board game known in the West as Go, set within a paradise landscape befitting their transcendent status. Immortals at leisure — playing games, admiring nature, or conversing on remote mountain peaks — were a favorite subject for imagining the timeless, carefree existence beyond ordinary mortal cares. Dai Jin, regarded as a founding figure of the Zhe school of painting, was known for combining bold brushwork with exactly this kind of atmospheric, narrative landscape.
Jacquard-woven both sides in soft, durable yarn; insert included.

I have no real complaints and one small wish. It captures daoist immortals playing well enough that I stopped looking for a better one. It does everything I hoped it would.
The quality is better than most of what I have seen at this price. The tones across daoist immortals playing are even and deep.
The quality here is well beyond what I paid for it. The smallest marks in daoist immortals playing are still visible, which is the entire point. It has been worth every minute of the wait.
This was packed carefully and showed up without a mark on it. ✨
This is the rare purchase that looks better in person than online. The shading in daoist immortals playing has a depth I never noticed in books. The packing was almost comical in how careful it was. The quality would hold up next to things costing three times as much. This shop has a customer for life in me.
