This album leaf portrait depicts an unnamed Chinese gentleman rendered in the formal conventions of Yuan- and Ming-dynasty portraiture, in which careful attention to costume and composed bearing conveyed status and character more than individualized likeness. Such portraits, often preserved as loose album leaves rather than large ancestral hanging scrolls, reflect a related but more intimate strand of Chinese portrait painting. The Art Institute of Chicago's collection includes a comparable example of this genre, acquired as a gift from the collector Robert Allerton.
Jacquard-woven both sides in soft, durable yarn; insert included.

I have already recommended this shop to three people. The clarity of portrait gentleman album makes it look like the original was photographed yesterday. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough.
This is exactly what I was looking for, and I looked for a long time. The scale works perfectly for portrait gentleman album and nothing feels cramped. I could not be happier with it.
This is genuinely one of the nicest things we own now. My guests ask about portrait gentleman album before anything else in the house. My neighbor liked it enough that she ordered one for her own place. I am already planning the next order.
I bought this to fill an awkward corner and it did much more than that. The clarity of portrait gentleman album makes it look like the original was photographed yesterday. My mother has strong opinions about how a house should look, and even she liked this one. It has been worth every minute of the wait.
This is exactly what I was looking for, and I looked for a long time. I bought this for portrait gentleman album and got far more than I paid for. It has made me a repeat customer already.
