This luminous view along the Rhine is by Aelbert Cuyp (1620–1691), the Dordrecht painter whose golden-toned river landscapes made him one of the great names of the Dutch Golden Age. Cuyp often painted the wide waterways near his home under a warm, glowing light, giving even modest rural scenes a sense of grandeur. His work later inspired English Romantic landscape painters such as Turner and Constable.
Jacquard-woven in soft, durable cotton — a warm, fully reversible throw for the sofa, bed or reading chair.

I wanted something for the playroom that nobody else would have, and this is it. My guests ask about View on the Rhine before anything else in the house…
I ordered one for myself and immediately started thinking about who else would want one. Everything I like about View on the Rhine is here and legible. The colors are deep without looking oversaturated. It came through a January cold snap in an unheated garage without any damage. It has been a pleasure to have around.
This turned out better than the photos led me to expect. The price is a little steep and the quality mostly justifies it. It has come through a humid August with no change at all.
Thanks for this. Happy the colors landed the way they should, since that is the part we fuss over most.
I would buy from this shop again without much thought. I have wanted something by Cuyp in this house for years, and View on the Rhine was the right pick. It made it through hurricane season on the coast with no problems at all. Worth the money overall.
