During the Apollo 11 moonwalk on 20 July 1969, Neil Armstrong photographed his fellow astronaut Buzz Aldrin standing on the grey lunar surface in full spacesuit and gold-tinted visor. Look closely at that visor and it holds a hidden self-portrait: the reflection of Armstrong himself, the lunar module Eagle, and the black sky, all caught in miniature on Aldrin's helmet. Because Armstrong appears in almost none of the mission's other well-known photographs, this image has become the de facto portrait of the first Apollo moonwalk.
