Blue Hill takes its name from the 940-foot granite hill that rises above the town on Maine's Blue Hill Peninsula, a landmark long used by sailors navigating the surrounding bay to orient themselves along the coast. Settled in the 1760s, the town became a center of granite quarrying and shipbuilding in the 19th century, exporting stone that was used in buildings up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Its combination of working harbor, rolling farmland, and mountain views made it a favorite subject for the county maps and atlases that documented coastal Maine in careful topographic detail during the 1800s.

I have already recommended this shop to three people. Every line in Blue Hill Maine is crisp, even in the busiest areas. It transformed a primary bedroom that had felt unfinished for years. Our winters are long here and this has made the room feel a lot less bleak. This is what buying online should feel like.
There are things I like here and a couple that bug me. I bought this for Blue Hill Maine and the subject is still the best part of it. The picture is nice enough and it softens if you look closely.
Thank you for the balanced review. The shipping times you describe are longer than we want, and we are moving to a faster service this fall.
For the price this lands well above where I expected it to. It has come through a humid August with no change at all. There was a note in the box that made it feel like a person packed it. I would tell anyone hesitating to go ahead.
It is a very good print that costs a bit more than it should. There is a small imperfection near one edge that I have decided to like. It looks more expensive than what I paid for it. Four stars and a short wish list.
I have bought a lot of art online and this is the first time it looked exactly like the listing. The tones across Blue Hill Maine are even and true right to the corners.
