Lucien Pissarro was the eldest of Camille Pissarro's five children and himself became a painter and printmaker, eventually settling in England and helping found the Eragny Press. This portrait reflects the close artistic bond between father and son — Camille corresponded with Lucien constantly about painting technique and theory, letters that remain an important record of Impressionist and Neo-Impressionist ideas. Camille Pissarro was a devoted mentor not only to his own children but to younger painters including Cézanne and Gauguin.
Printed edge to edge on a soft, durable woven area rug with a comfortable, non-slip feel.

There is a mushy quality to the detail that I was not expecting. The finish looks flat under normal room light. The quality is acceptable and the price is not. This has been a lesson in reading the details before buying.
The colors are richer in person than they look on a screen. There is a life to Portrait of Lucien here that flat reproductions usually kill.
This is the best thing I have bought for the house all year. The colors in Portrait of Lucien are richer than any version I found online.
