Camille Pissarro painted the wooded lanes and hillsides around Pontoise repeatedly during the 1870s, using the dense screens of trees to study how light breaks and scatters through foliage onto a path below. This wooded lane reflects his patient, structural approach to landscape — often compared to Cézanne, who painted alongside him at Pontoise and credited Pissarro as a formative influence. The two artists' shared campaigns in the countryside northwest of Paris were pivotal to the development of both Impressionism and, later, Cézanne's more structural style.
Jacquard-woven as a soft, double-sided tapestry throw with fringed edges — a warm layer for the sofa or bed.
