“The Junta of the Philippines,” painted in 1815, is the largest canvas Francisco de Goya (1746–1828) ever produced, depicting the annual shareholders' meeting of the Royal Company of the Philippines with King Ferdinand VII presiding at its center. Goya, disillusioned by Ferdinand's reactionary return to the throne after years of war and reform, painted the king small and oddly diminished within the crowded hall, an unflattering political undertone hidden inside an official commission. The painting hangs today in the Musée Goya in Castres, France.

Jacquard-woven in soft, durable cotton — a warm, fully reversible throw for the sofa, bed or reading chair.
