This plate from Andreas Cellarius's Harmonia Macrocosmica (1660) sets out the Copernican system in flat plan, the Sun fixed at the center of concentric planetary orbits with the Earth demoted to a single revolving sphere. Nicolaus Copernicus himself is pictured in the lower corner holding a globe, part of Cellarius's consistent practice of anchoring each cosmological diagram to the astronomer behind it. Barely a century after Copernicus's own publication had proposed the idea, Cellarius's atlas still presented it as one live option among several, a sign of how unsettled the debate over the universe's structure remained in 1660.

I ordered it on a Friday and it was here Monday. It survived a Brooklyn building where packages sit in the lobby all day. One very happy customer here.
I was nervous about ordering art online and this went smoothly. The reproduction of Cellarius Celestial Chart is faithful enough that I would buy another. The seller answered a sizing question the same afternoon. Solid purchase, no regrets.
I'm really pleased with this. The reproduction of Cellarius Celestial Chart is faithful enough that I would buy another.
My husband spotted this months ago and I finally gave in. The size is exactly right for the spot I had in mind. The color accuracy is the best I have seen from an online order. Don’t think twice, just order it.
It arrived two days after I ordered, which I did not expect. There is no pixelation at all, even with my nose close to it. I would order this again tomorrow.
Thank you. We spend a long time on the scans, so hearing that the detail came through means a lot.
