The Harmonia Macrocosmica, published by Johannes Janssonius in Amsterdam in 1660, stands among the great achievements of the Dutch Golden Age of cartography. Its author, Andreas Cellarius, was a schoolmaster rather than a professional astronomer, yet he assembled 29 sweeping double-folio plates charting the heavens according to the Ptolemaic, Copernican, and Tychonic models then competing for acceptance. Each plate is bordered with richly detailed engravings of cherubs, astronomers, and the instruments of their trade, making the atlas as much a work of decorative art as of science.

The shipping was fast and the packing was better than most furniture I have bought. The tones across Cellarius Celestial Chart are even and true right to the corners. This one is staying with us a long time.
The shipping was fast and the packing was better than most furniture I have bought. The clarity of Cellarius Celestial Chart makes it look like the original was photographed yesterday. Genuinely delighted with it.
This turned out better than the photos led me to expect. The smaller elements of Cellarius Celestial Chart are clear enough to reward a close look. The colors are deep without looking oversaturated. It has become one of my favorite things in the house.
It looks like something out of a museum shop, in the best possible way. I bought this for Cellarius Celestial Chart and got far more than I paid for. The image is so clean that I have looked at it with a magnifier. The materials are noticeably better than the last two things I ordered online.
This has gotten more compliments than anything else we own. I keep noticing new corners of Cellarius Celestial Chart weeks later. The detail holds up well from a couple of feet away. It is staying right where it is.
