The Story in the Margin
Claude Monet painted relatively few still lifes compared to his landscapes, but produced a notable group of fruit and flower pieces early in his career, partly to generate income before his landscape work found a steady market. "Apples and Grapes" reflects this less familiar side of Monet's output, applying the same close attention to light and color on fruit and tabletop that he later brought to haystacks and water lilies. These still lifes show Monet working within a traditional genre while already developing the loose, direct brushwork that would define Impressionism.
Printed with archival giclée inks on smooth, acid-free 220 gsm gallery-grade fine-art paper; available in multiple sizes.

I have bought a lot of art online and this is the first time it looked exactly like the listing. Owning Apples and Grapes means more to me than generic art ever could, and Monet is part of that.
The shipping was fast and the packing was better than most furniture I have bought. There is a life to Apples and Grapes here that flat reproductions usually kill. The quality would hold up next to things costing three times as much. I would order this again tomorrow.
It landed on my porch in perfect condition two days early. The shading in Apples and Grapes has a depth I never noticed in books. This shop has a customer for life in me.
