“Ein Walddorf hinter Dünen” (A Forest Village behind Dunes) is a landscape by Jacob van Ruisdael (1628/29–1682), the pre-eminent landscape painter of the Dutch Golden Age. Trained in his native Haarlem, Ruisdael was the first to make trees and woodland the true subject of a painting rather than mere backdrop, rendering their trunks and foliage with remarkable depth and character. This wooded village scene is held in the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden.
Jacquard-woven in soft, durable cotton — a warm, fully reversible throw for the sofa, bed or reading chair.
