Eugène Delacroix - Arabs of Oran | Woven Pillow

This etching by Eugène Delacroix (1798-1863), dated 1833, grew out of the artist's 1832 journey through Morocco and Algeria as part of a French diplomatic mission, an experience that permanently reshaped his art. The print depicts Arab figures in Oran, a port city on the Algerian coast, drawn with the immediacy of the sketches Delacroix made on the spot during his travels.
