Eugène Delacroix, better known for his dramatic history paintings, also produced quieter landscape studies during travels through the French countryside. "The Old Bridge at Mantes" depicts the historic stone bridge over the Seine at Mantes-la-Jolie, west of Paris, rendered with the loose, atmospheric brushwork Delacroix used to capture light and weather on his travels. Landscapes like this reveal a more intimate, observational side of an artist celebrated for his sweeping Romantic dramas.
Printed edge to edge on a soft, durable woven area rug with a comfortable, non-slip feel.

I have already recommended this shop to three people. Anyone who loves Delacroix should have The Old Bridge at Mantes somewhere in the house. The tracking updated at every stage and it arrived when they said it would.
For what I paid I expected considerably more than this. The weave looks coarser than the close-up photos suggest. It is not what I paid for.
I am sorry the color did not match what you saw on the site. We are rephotographing that piece this month. In the meantime we will refund you in full, and there is no need to send anything back.
I bought this to fill an awkward corner and it did much more than that. Owning The Old Bridge at Mantes means more to me than generic art ever could, and Delacroix is part of that. The whole order was smooth from checkout to unwrapping. It went straight into the home office and has not moved since. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough.
I wanted something for the kitchen that nobody else would have, and this is it. ✨
