This woodblock print belongs to Momoyogusa (Flowers of a Hundred Worlds), the celebrated 1909–10 design book by Kamisaka Sekka (1866–1942), showing carts draped in flowers in a scene drawn from Japan's long tradition of seasonal and literary imagery. Sekka, the last major figure of the decorative Rinpa school, brought its bold color and flattened, pattern-driven design into the modern Meiji era, and Momoyogusa remains celebrated as a landmark of Japanese graphic design.
