George Inness was drawn throughout his career to the transient, atmospheric effects of weather and light, and "After a Summer Shower" reflects this interest in capturing a fleeting moment rather than a fixed, detailed view. Painted in the soft, hazy brushwork of his mature style, the work exemplifies Inness's departure from the sharply rendered panoramas of the earlier Hudson River School toward a more personal, moody interpretation of landscape shaped by his Swedenborgian religious convictions.
Jacquard-woven as a soft, double-sided tapestry throw with fringed edges — a warm layer for the sofa or bed.

I was expecting good and got great. It is the best thing in the breakfast nook now.
It arrived two days after I ordered, which I did not expect. The tones across a Summer Shower are even and true right to the corners. The tones are deep and even across the entire surface. The weave is tight enough to hold every bit of the detail.
My only complaint is that I wish they made a bigger version. The color choices Inness made in a Summer Shower come through clearly. I compared it against a similar piece from another shop and this one won. The packing was thorough enough that it could have been dropped and survived.
