George Inness returned to the Catskill Mountains of New York throughout his career, and "Summer in the Catskills" reflects the softer, more atmospheric style he developed after his early years working in the detailed tradition of the Hudson River School. Rendered in warm, hazy light, the painting reflects Inness's mature conviction, shaped by his Swedenborgian religious beliefs, that landscape painting should evoke mood and spiritual feeling rather than simply record topographical fact.
Jacquard-woven as a soft, double-sided tapestry throw with fringed edges — a warm layer for the sofa or bed.

The colors are richer in person than they look on a screen… 😍
This turned out better than the photos led me to expect. It is the closest I will get to owning Inness, and Summer in the Catskills looks the part.
It went exactly where I planned and needed no adjusting at all. The colors in Summer in the Catskills came through almost exactly as I hoped. Good value even at full price.
I kept checking the tracking because I could not wait for it to get here. There is a life to Summer in the Catskills here that flat reproductions usually kill. Worth every dollar and then some.
I’m really pleased with this.
Wonderful to read, thank you. We put a lot of thought into how these are packed, so it is good to know that came through.
