The Story in the Margin
"Sunlit Valley" reflects George Inness's lifelong fascination with the transient effects of light across an open landscape, rendered in the soft, atmospheric brushwork that defines his mature style. Inness, one of the most influential American landscape painters of the nineteenth century, believed that the visible play of light in nature carried spiritual meaning, an idea rooted in his Swedenborgian religious convictions that shaped his later, more personal and poetic body of work.
Printed with archival giclée inks on smooth, acid-free 220 gsm gallery-grade fine-art paper; available in multiple sizes.

I have owned better and I have definitely owned worse. There is a small flaw near one edge that I only see when I look for it. The listing description is accurate and a little generous. Three stars, taking everything together.
Glad it arrived safely, and sorry the wait was longer than it should have been. Email us and we will refund the shipping cost.
My order came a day early, which never happens. The scan behind Sunlit Valley is clean, with no obvious artifacts.
The reproduction quality is the best I have seen anywhere near this price. There is a life to Sunlit Valley here that flat reproductions usually kill. The light in the Pacific Northwest is gray most of the year and this still holds its color. Worth every dollar and then some.
I was nervous about ordering art online and this went smoothly. People who know Inness spot Sunlit Valley from across the room. It cost about twenty dollars more than I wanted to spend and I don't regret it. I would recommend it to a friend. 🙂
I wanted something for the upstairs hallway that nobody else would have, and this is it.
