This double-sided sheet shows John Constable's working method at its most direct: a riverbank study of trees on one side, and cattle sheltering beneath trees with a smaller inset landscape sketch on the other. Constable made hundreds of such rapid studies outdoors around the Stour Valley, using them as raw material for the large exhibition landscapes he later composed in his London studio. Sheets like this reveal the close, on-the-spot observation of nature that grounded his mature painting style.
Printed edge to edge on a soft, durable woven area rug with a comfortable, non-slip feel.

It made the guest room feel finished in a way I could not manage on my own.
This is my fourth order from this shop and the standard has not slipped once… 😍
The reproduction quality is the best I have seen anywhere near this price. The shading in River Bank with Trees has a depth I never noticed in books. Ten out of ten from me.
This was packed carefully and showed up without a mark on it. My friends recognized River Bank with Trees right away, which surprised me. ⭐
It came packed so well that opening it took ten minutes. The weave is tight enough to hold every bit of the detail. It looks like something you would find in a very good museum shop. An easy five stars from me.
