Alongside his celebrated society portraits, John Singer Sargent undertook major mural commissions later in his career, including cycles for the Boston Public Library and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, projects that required extensive preparatory figure studies drawn from live models. This double-sided sheet, showing a bound male figure on both its front and back, reflects that working method, in which Sargent worked out pose, musculature, and gesture in charcoal before translating the figure into a finished mural composition. Such studies, often more expressive and immediate than the murals themselves, are prized today for revealing Sargent's draftsmanship at its most direct.
Printed edge to edge on a soft, durable woven area rug with a comfortable, non-slip feel.

It went exactly where I planned and needed no adjusting at all. The tones across Bound Man are even and deep.
Really glad it worked out. Thanks for writing something this specific, it helps other people decide. Best, Ines
This is genuinely one of the nicest things we own now. It brings out parts of Bound Man I have never seen reproduced this well. There is no pixelation at all, even with my nose close to it. Everything about this was right.
The detail is genuinely impressive for what I paid. It is the closest I will get to owning Sargent, and Bound Man looks the part.
Good value for something this size. The balance of light and dark in Bound Man came out better than I expected. The value here is strong even with the shipping cost.
This is the best thing I have bought for the house all year. Every line in Bound Man is crisp, even in the busiest areas. Buy it, you will not regret it.
