John Singer Sargent painted this sun-washed watercolor in 1908 while visiting the city of Tarragona on the eastern coast of Spain, capturing a shaded terrace and garden in the loose, luminous washes that defined his mature watercolor style. The work reflects his practice of seeking out quiet architectural and garden corners while traveling, painting quickly to catch the changing Mediterranean light. It belongs to the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Jacquard-woven both sides in soft, durable yarn; insert included.

I have no real complaints and one small wish. The smaller elements of Tarragona Terrace and Garden are clear enough to reward a close look. The size is exactly what the description said it would be. I will be back for another one.
The quality here is well beyond what I paid for it. It brings out parts of Tarragona Terrace and Garden I have never seen reproduced this well. The value here is so good that I keep expecting to find the catch. It has become the thing I point to when people compliment the house. It has been worth every minute of the wait.
This sits right in the middle for me. It is a fair version of Tarragona Terrace and Garden at a fair price. It is fine, and I did expect better.
My husband spotted this months ago and I finally gave in. I bought this for Tarragona Terrace and Garden and got far more than I paid for.
