Louis Gabriel Moreau, known as Moreau l'Aîné (the Elder) to distinguish him from his younger brother, the illustrator Jean-Michel Moreau, was a French landscape painter celebrated for his atmospheric, naturalistic views of the countryside around Paris. Working in the late eighteenth century, Moreau anticipated the plein-air sensibility of the nineteenth-century Barbizon School, favoring soft, hazy light and unpretentious rural scenery over the grand historical landscapes favored by the Academy. "Waterfall" reflects his attentive, quietly observational approach to landscape, built on careful studies of light and atmosphere rather than invented, idealized scenery.
Printed edge to edge on a soft, durable woven area rug with a comfortable, non-slip feel.

I ordered it on a Friday and it was here Monday. My daughter recognized waterfall moreau from her art class and was thrilled. It has a substantial feel that photos cannot really show. I have already ordered two more for other rooms.
It made the home office feel finished in a way I could not manage on my own. The smallest marks in waterfall moreau are still visible, which is the entire point. It has made the home office feel finished. 😍
The whole experience was smooth from checkout to delivery. It captures waterfall moreau well enough that I stopped looking for a better one. Recommended if you are on the fence…
My order came a day early, which never happens. The subject of waterfall moreau is what sold me, and it delivers. It is staying right where it is.
The whole experience was smooth from checkout to delivery. The detail in waterfall moreau holds up from a couple of feet away. Really no complaints worth writing down.
