The Story in the Margin
Louis Gabriel Moreau, known as Moreau l'Aîné (the Elder) to distinguish him from his younger brother, the illustrator Jean-Michel Moreau, was a French landscape painter celebrated for his atmospheric, naturalistic views of the countryside around Paris. Working in the late eighteenth century, Moreau anticipated the plein-air sensibility of the nineteenth-century Barbizon School, favoring soft, hazy light and unpretentious rural scenery over the grand historical landscapes favored by the Academy. "Waterfall" reflects his attentive, quietly observational approach to landscape, built on careful studies of light and atmosphere rather than invented, idealized scenery.
Printed with archival giclée inks on smooth, acid-free 220 gsm gallery-grade fine-art paper; available in multiple sizes.

My only complaint is that I wish they made a bigger version. The detail in Waterfall holds up from a couple of feet away.
This has been the easiest online order I have placed in years. Everything that makes Waterfall special survived the reproduction. The value here is so good that I keep expecting to find the catch. Five stars without hesitation.
This was a gift for my sister and she called me the day it arrived. It has made me appreciate Waterfall more than I already did. It has become the thing I point to when people compliment the house. It has made me a repeat customer already.
It came packed so well that opening it took ten minutes. Everything that makes Waterfall special survived the reproduction.
The colors are richer in person than they look on a screen. My guests ask about Waterfall before anything else in the house. The seller replied to my question in under a hour. Don’t think twice, just order it.
