Paul Signac, a founding figure of Neo-Impressionism alongside Georges Seurat, spent much of his career painting harbors and coastlines using the Pointillist technique of small, distinct dots of pure color that blend optically in the viewer's eye. "Evening" reflects his lifelong fascination with the changing light of dusk over water, a subject he returned to throughout his career as he traveled the coasts of France aboard his sailboat. After Seurat's death in 1891, Signac became Neo-Impressionism's leading champion, refining its scientific approach to color into a more lyrical, decorative style.
Printed edge to edge on a soft, durable woven area rug with a comfortable, non-slip feel.

Everything about this went better than I hoped. The colors in Evening are richer than any version I found online.
The subject alone sold me and the execution sealed it. Every line in Evening is crisp, even in the busiest areas. It fits the living room like it was made for the space. I am already planning the next order.
This has been the easiest online order I have placed in years. Shipping took three days door to door. Everything in this house is secured for earthquakes and this has stayed put through two small ones. It has beaten every expectation I had.
This was a gift for my sister and she called me the day it arrived. Everything that makes Evening special survived the reproduction. I could not be happier with it.
