"Au Temps d'Harmonie (In Times of Harmony)" is one of Paul Signac's most ambitious works, a large Pointillist composition begun in the early 1890s depicting an idealized future society at leisure by the sea. Signac, an avowed anarchist, originally titled the painting "Au Temps d'Anarchie" before softening its title, though its utopian vision of a harmonious, classless society at ease remained unchanged. Painted using the small, distinct dots of pure color that define Neo-Impressionism, it reflects Signac's belief that the movement's scientific color theory could carry a genuinely political, utopian message.

Everything about this went better than I hoped. Anyone who loves Signac should have In Times of Harmony somewhere in the house. Every person who has been in the house has asked where it came from. It came through a January cold snap in an unheated garage without any damage. My only regret is not ordering sooner.
It is a very good rug that costs a bit more than it should. The detail in In Times of Harmony holds up from a couple of feet away.
