During the 1880s, Paul Signac painted the village of Les Andelys on the Seine in Normandy repeatedly, drawn to its dramatic riverside cliffs and changing light as he developed the Pointillist technique of small, distinct dots of pure color that blend optically in the viewer's eye. "The Andelys" is one of several views he made of the site, reflecting his transition during this period from Impressionism toward the more systematic, scientific approach to color that would define Neo-Impressionism alongside Georges Seurat.

Jacquard-woven as a soft, double-sided tapestry throw with fringed edges — a warm layer for the sofa or bed.
