Presque Isle sits in Aroostook County, in the far northern reaches of Maine, a vast agricultural region so associated with its signature crop that it is known simply as "the County" to Mainers, and famous nationwide for its potato farms. The town grew as a service and shipping center for the surrounding farmland once the railroad reached the region in the 1890s, connecting Aroostook's harvests to markets across New England. Its remote location near the Canadian border, more than 150 miles from Maine's southern cities, made Aroostook County's farming towns a distinct and distant frontier that 19th-century mapmakers took care to document as the region opened to settlement.

Whatever arrived at my house is not what the listing showed. Half the shading in Presque Isle has disappeared into solid black. It came out of the mailer smelling like a warehouse floor. It looks nothing like the version in the room photos on the product page. I would warn anyone thinking about buying here.
My mother liked hers so much that I ordered one too. The colors in Presque Isle are richer than any version I found online. The finish is even and flawless right to the edges. I would pay more and still feel good about it. 🙂
