The Prunes family were among the most accomplished chartmakers of 16th-century Majorca, part of the renowned Majorcan school of portolan cartography that dominated Mediterranean navigation for two centuries. Mateo Prunes, the family's best-documented member, signed and dated his charts by hand, including a celebrated 1563 example on gilded parchment now held in Madrid's Museo Naval, prized for combining precise coastal outlines with lavish ornamentation of compass roses, flags, and coats of arms. Charts bearing the Prunes name were working tools for Mediterranean sailors as much as they were showpieces of the chartmaker's art.

The quality here is well beyond what I paid for it. The smallest marks in Prunes Chart of the Mediterranean are still visible, which is the entire point. It has made every other thing in that room look better by association. This is what buying online should feel like.
It has completely changed how the living room feels…
The colors are richer in person than they look on a screen. My guests ask about Prunes Chart of the Mediterranean before anything else in the house. Highly recommended if you are hesitating.
I wanted something for the hallway that nobody else would have, and this is it. It brings out parts of Prunes Chart of the Mediterranean I have never seen reproduced this well. It is the best forty dollars I have spent on this house. The colors are richer and warmer than a screen can show.
Everything about this went better than I hoped. The smallest marks in Prunes Chart of the Mediterranean are still visible, which is the entire point. Shipping took three days door to door. The image is so clean that I have looked at it with a magnifier. 👌
