This ink and wash drawing, made around 1652–57, shows the ruined Kostverloren estate near Amsterdam — a country house whose name, fittingly, translates as “lost expenses.” Rembrandt van Rijn (1606–1669) and his contemporaries were drawn to the site's history of misfortune, and here he records its crumbling state with a felled tree in the foreground emphasizing the theme of decay. The drawing is now held at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Jacquard-woven in soft, durable cotton — a warm, fully reversible throw for the sofa, bed or reading chair.
