The Latin title translates roughly as "the situation of the principal regions of the whole world," a phrasing typical of the scholarly, encyclopedic ambitions behind 16th- and 17th-century world maps. Cartographers of the period wrote their titles in Latin, the international language of European scholarship, so that a single map could serve readers from Lisbon to Krakow without translation. Maps bearing this kind of title were often bound into geography textbooks and cosmographies, intended to give students a single authoritative view of the entire known world.

I ordered this for a specific spot and it only half works there. It is a fair version of The Principal Parts of the Whole World at a fair price. Nothing about the quality bothers me and nothing excites me either. It cost about what I would expect and not a dollar less. Perfectly okay and easy to forget.
Thank you for writing this up. We would rather hear the mixed reviews than only the happy ones, so this is genuinely useful.
The color balance is off enough that it clashes with everything around it. My version of The Principal Parts of the Whole World looks like it was scaled up from something small. It is usable, and that is the ceiling.
This is the best thing I have bought for the house all year. It has made me appreciate The Principal Parts of the Whole World more than I already did. The print arrived rolled in a heavy tube that would take real effort to damage. This shop has a customer for life in me.
It has completely changed how the guest room feels. The tones across The Principal Parts of the Whole World are even and true right to the corners. It has made the guest room feel finished.
My order arrived with a crease I cannot get out of it. The listing image of The Principal Parts of the Whole World is noticeably sharper than what turned up here. The trim is uneven, noticeably wider on one side than the other. Our radiators run dry all winter and this warped inside a month. Not a purchase I would repeat.
