This double-sided sheet at the Art Institute of Chicago is catalogued in the style of Nicolas Poussin (1594-1665), the French painter whose classical compositions defined Baroque-era art in Rome. The recto, drawn in pen and brown ink with brown wash, depicts the Incredulity of Saint Thomas, the New Testament episode in which the apostle Thomas touches the wound of the risen Christ to confirm the Resurrection; the verso carries additional figure sketches, typical of a working study sheet. Because the drawing is attributed to Poussin's style rather than his own hand, it likely originates from a follower or student absorbing his classical figure groupings and controlled narrative clarity. Poussin's enormous influence on later academic painters makes such circle drawings valuable evidence of how his ideas were studied and passed on.
Jacquard-woven as a soft, double-sided tapestry throw with fringed edges — a warm layer for the sofa or bed.

I ordered it on a Friday and it was here Monday. The detail in The Incredulity of Saint Thomas holds up with my face inches away.
It looks like something out of a museum shop, in the best possible way. The texture in The Incredulity of Saint Thomas makes Poussin feel present in the room. The finish is even and flawless right to the edges.
The seller answered me once and then went quiet. The listing image of The Incredulity of Saint Thomas is noticeably sharper than what turned up here. The photo on the site has clearly had the contrast pushed. There is a smell to it that took a week to air out. It is fine, and I expected a great deal better.
The reproduction quality is the best I have seen anywhere near this price. The materials are noticeably better than the last two things I ordered online. The packing was almost comical in how careful it was. This shop has a customer for life in me.
This is the best thing I have bought for the house all year. The colors in The Incredulity of Saint Thomas are richer than any version I found online. It makes the upstairs hallway feel like somebody with taste lives here. Our summers are so humid that I was nervous about ordering anything at all, and it has held up perfectly. Thank you for making something this good.
