“The Conspiracy of Claudius Civilis,” painted around 1661–62 by Rembrandt van Rijn (1606–1669), depicts the one-eyed Batavian chieftain Claudius Civilis rallying his people in revolt against Rome — a story from Tacitus that 17th-century Dutch audiences read as an emblem of their own struggle for independence from Spain. Commissioned for Amsterdam's new Town Hall at an enormous five-meter scale, the painting was returned to Rembrandt and cut down to a quarter of its original size; it stands as the last major history painting of his career. It is now the centerpiece of the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
Jacquard-woven in soft, durable cotton — a warm, fully reversible throw for the sofa, bed or reading chair.

It came packed so well that opening it took ten minutes. My daughter recognized The Conspiracy of Claudius Civilis from her art class and was thrilled. Everything down here fades in the heat, and this has held through an entire summer.
It shipped fast and arrived exactly as described. The subject of The Conspiracy of Claudius Civilis is what sold me, and it delivers. My mother has strong opinions about how a house should look, and even she liked this one. Four stars and a short wish list.
This is a solid buy at a slightly high price. The tones across The Conspiracy of Claudius Civilis are even and deep. I would recommend it to a friend.
The quality control here is clearly not what it should be. The finer detail in The Conspiracy of Claudius Civilis does not survive up close. It sat on the porch through a August downpour because the driver would not ring the bell. Not terrible, only not good.
This is disappointing to hear and I am sorry we let you down. We have passed the packaging problem along to the team that packs our orders, and we would like to fix this for you.
This sits right in the middle for me. The strongest parts of The Conspiracy of Claudius Civilis are still recognizably Rembrandt, which saves it. It faded badly in six weeks of California afternoon sun. I would buy from here again with clearer expectations.
Thank you for a fair review. We are working on the delivery estimates so they match what actually happens.
