This photograph looks out over open country from a high, rocky vantage point, in the documentary style favoured by the mid-19th-century expeditionary photographers who carried heavy glass-plate and waxed-paper cameras into remote and often difficult terrain. Elevated panoramic views like this one were prized in the 1850s and 60s both for their topographical accuracy and for the sense of scale and discovery they offered audiences back home who would otherwise never see these landscapes.

This is a solid buy at a slightly high price. Everything I like about View from the Top of is here and legible. Four stars, and the fifth comes if they add more sizes.
Everything about this went better than I hoped. This is what buying online should feel like.
I bought this as a housewarming gift and kept it a day before wrapping it. Only the far edges of View from the Top of lose a little crispness. 👌
The condition it arrived in tells me somebody packs these by hand. It captures View from the Top of well enough that I stopped looking for a better one. It cost about twenty dollars more than I wanted to spend and I don't regret it. There was a note in the box that made it feel like a person packed it. Very happy with the purchase.
I was expecting good and got great. Everything that makes View from the Top of special survived the reproduction. The condition on arrival was flawless, right down to the corners. Every person who has been in the house has asked where it came from.
