Made in July 1888, this pen-and-ink "Landscape at Arles" belongs to a celebrated group of over thirty reed-pen drawings Vincent van Gogh produced that summer, translating recent oil paintings into ink using dashes, dots, and swirling strokes that echo his expressive brushwork. Van Gogh cut his own pens from reeds gathered near Arles, prizing the tool for its bold, direct line, and sent many of these drawings to his brother Theo and fellow artists Émile Bernard and John Russell. The sheet, rendered in brown ink over graphite, is now in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Printed with archival giclée inks on smooth, acid-free 220 gsm gallery-grade fine-art paper; available in multiple sizes.
