“Wife, Wealth, Sons, and a Salary” is a polychrome woodblock print made during the Kangxi reign (1662–1722) of China's Qing dynasty, part of a rich tradition of Chinese New Year prints meant to bring good fortune into the home. Popular prints like this one, produced in workshops for wide circulation rather than by a single named master, typically combined auspicious symbols and wishes for prosperity, family and career success into a single decorative image. The original sheet is held in the public-domain collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art.
