Winslow Homer painted this 1892 watercolor during one of his frequent trips to the Adirondack Mountains, where he fished and camped for weeks at a time in his later years. The work is believed to depict his friend and guide Rufus Wallace, rendered with the loose, atmospheric washes Homer developed to capture the North Woods' hazy light and thick timber. It is held in the Art Institute of Chicago's Mr. and Mrs. Martin A. Ryerson Collection.
Jacquard-woven both sides in soft, durable yarn; insert included.
