Painted around 1885 in Nuenen in the Netherlands, "A Peasant Woman Digging in Front of Her Cottage" reflects the early phase of Vincent van Gogh's career, when he focused on the hard, dignified labor of rural peasants rendered in a dark, earthy palette inspired by Jean-François Millet and Dutch realist painting. Van Gogh made numerous studies of peasant figures at work during this period, culminating in his first major painting, "The Potato Eaters." This somber, tonal style would soon give way to the vivid color and expressive brushwork he developed after moving to Paris in 1886.
Printed edge to edge on a soft, durable woven area rug with a comfortable, non-slip feel.

Everyone who walks in asks about it. The colors in A Peasant Woman Digging are richer than any version I found online. I am already planning the next order…
It arrived two days after I ordered, which I did not expect. It has made me appreciate A Peasant Woman Digging more than I already did. Genuinely delighted with it…
I have already recommended this shop to three people. Owning A Peasant Woman Digging means more to me than generic art ever could, and van Gogh is part of that. The color accuracy is the best I have seen from an online order. It survived a Brooklyn building where packages sit in the lobby all day. Don't think twice, just order it.
Everyone who walks in asks about it. The brushwork in A Peasant Woman Digging shows exactly why van Gogh has the reputation. There is no pixelation at all, even with my nose close to it. Everything down here fades in the heat, and this has held through an entire summer. Worth every dollar and then some.
Wonderful to read, thank you. We put a lot of thought into how these are packed, so it is good to know that came through.
I bought this to fill an awkward corner and it did much more than that. Everything that makes A Peasant Woman Digging special survived the reproduction. The high desert dries everything out and this has not cracked or curled. Buy it, you will not regret it.
